Community Involvement

JMW support a number of Charities and volunteer organisations from a wide spectrum of back grounds. JMW also provide IT & web support to the following organisations:

  • St Columba's Hospice
    This is one of two Hospice's in the Edinburgh area which provides palliative care for up to 150 patients with an in patient and a day hospice. The Hospice has recently started the on-line shop to help with fund raising.
  • Edinburgh Hospital Broadcasting Service
    Started in 1962 this is the main hospital radio station broadcasting to the hospitals of Edinburgh providing comfort and entertainment to patients. Currently they broadcast to The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Royal Victoria and the Western General hospitals.
  • The Boys' Brigade, Edinburgh, Leith & District Battalion
    The Boys' Brigade (BB) is the oldest uniformed organisation for Boys and was formed in Glasgow in 1883. Edinburgh, Leith & District incorporates the City of Edinburgh, Midlothian & East Lothian Council areas. There is 37 local companies (groups), with a membership of over 1100 Boys, and over 300 volunteer adult leaders.
  • Edinburgh Headway Group
    Edinburgh Headway Group is a Edinburgh charity dedicated to helping and supporting the traumatically head injured, their families and carers. They offer a range of therapeutic and rehabilitative activities which span the spectrum from physical fitness to reflexology, tai chi, computing and social activities. They also offer advice, information, peer counselling and support to our head injured members and their caring relatives.
  • Edinburgh High Constables
    This long standing charitable organisation founded in the late 16th century was the predecessor to the Peelers or the commonly know Bobby. The High Constables form the ceremonial guard for the Lord Provost of Edinburgh.
  • Edinburgh Merchant Company & Merchants Hall
    Another of Edinburgh's long standing charities with a documented history going back more than 300 years with some areas going back considerably more and well known for the relief of the poor. The Company owns three of Edinburgh's well known schools providing education for over 5000 pupils. The Company and has one of the most prestigious halls in Edinburgh which is let for private functions.
  • Garioch Open Award (Website in Development)
    This group provides access to the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme for young people aged 14-25 in the area. The group provides guidance and instruction to the young people to assist them in achieving each stage of the award.
