InfoStop

InfoStopJMW’s InfoStop operates using Orange GPRS to link to the central server at our office. This central server at JMW holds the timetable data for the customers bus routes. This data can either be updated by JMW for customers with a service agreement, or by the customers via an interface over the Internet. Should the customer prefer a PMR connection to GPRS then this is an option but requires PMR coverage from a local base station.

The InfoStop unit consists of 12 LED’s to display information relevant to thebus, the time until the bus arrives, whether a bus has low floor access, and if the time shown is from timetable information or from a RTI unit on the bus. The user selects the required service by pressing either the next bus button or one of 6 bus service buttons on the panel and is then advised of the bus arrival time and the source of the information.

When a bus is equipped with InfoFare or a JMW On Vehicle Computer (OVC) these will also transmit back the vehicles position to the JMW central server using the Orange GPRS network. JMW’s InfoFare can be fitted when an Almex Optima ticket machine is linked to the buses. This combination offers a low cost RTI system.
